Why, How, What
Why : We believe in presenting scholars with authentic learning opportunities that make them ready for Twenty-First century vocations and challenges.
How: We create a significant learning environment that harnesses the present technology, the current required content skills of social studies and English class, and crafts the voice of the scholars.
What: We teach integrated Social Studies and English classes; making students successful in the short and long-term.
Most school leaders are concerned with meeting the benchmarks required by the state; conversely, there are some who do wish to be forward thinking. These statements allow leaders the privilege of change and compliance not being mutually exclusive. To be fair, I believe worthwhile campus and district leaders would find this to be an emotional relief. Kids no longer have to be beholden to a factory system of education; as is so often criticized. Instead, leader can be compliant, progressive, and acting in the best interest of scholars. Embracing this (why statement and subsequent change) is a solid win for everyone.
