Let Me Introduce Myself
Hello All!
My name is Jacob Montag and I hail from the wonderful town of New Braunfels, Texas. My most recent position was World History Teacher at Memorial Early College High School. I have taught English, History, Journalism, Yearbook over the last 7 years and noticed that the needs of students have changed tremendously, but the methods have not changed at all. The root cause of this change largely stems from the introduction of the smart phone and social media; ultimately, these venues will never go away as they are here to stay. I realized this and embraced technological means early in my career; however, I am only just now in an environment that promotes technological advancement. I’m not a principal, superintendent, or politician by nature, but I believe I can contribute to this field as many of the ideas being used are outdated or haven’t stayed current with the newest technology. I’m new to COVA and Lamar, but I look forward to learning, growing, and taking the ideas in my head and making them a reality. During COVID, I had a 75% pass the English 2 STAAR and lead Comal ISD in World History data.
Until now, I have been growing programs and institutions. I think its time to grow people.
